It is possible to edit latest generation transponder hitag 2 with Zed BULL Key Programmer Pc software. Pages of hitag 2 transponders can be both read and written with Zed- BULL and Zed-BULL PC Software. (Free Frame data PIDs are information used to help the technician verify the condition at the time a fault is set.) Further, the I/M Readiness Monitor Status, for all vehicle monitors, is reset to INC (Incomplete) status.

Provide the description for the screen which might appear on the scan tool.
Example:
Possible 1: For some of the vehicle, identify vehicle process is not needed. Component test screen appear at this stage already and allows you to perform the component test.
Possible 2: For the others, continue selecting the vehicle from the scan tool is needed. To identify the vehicle, you may need to complete a series of selections, which may include any of the followings. (Benz as an example) Select one of the attributes from each screen and highlight the attribute to enter to the next page. The screens continue appearing until the selecting process complete.

Retrieving ECU Info

I. Retrieving ECU Info.
The ECU Info. function allows viewing of ECU part No. and etc.
The function may not be available for some vehicles.
1) Use UP/DOWN button to select ECU Information from Mode Menu and press OK button.
2) Wait a few seconds while the scan tool VAS 5052A is communicating with vehicle control module.
3) View control module information on the screen.
4) Press Save button to record the data.

II. Resetting ECM/PCM
The ECM/PCM Reset function is used to reset Engine Control Module and Powertrain Control Module. The function is available for Honda ONLY.
CAUTION: Resetting ECM/PCM may allow the scan tool to delete both the codes, and “Freeze Frame” data and manufacturer specific enhanced data from the vehicle’s on-board computer. Do not reset the control module before the system has been checked completely by a technician.

1) Use UP/DOWN button to select ECM/PCM Reset from Mode Menu and press OK button.
2) A message prompting you to turn key on with engine off comes up on the screen.
If the key is not in KOEO position, press No button to return to Mode Menu.
3) Press Yes button to continue, AK300 key programmer and a warning message comes up asking for your confirmation.
4) Press Yes button to send a command to reset ECM/PCM.
If you decide not to reset ECM/PCM, press NO button to exit.
A “Command Cancelled.” message shows on the screen.
5) A message prompting you to turn the key to KOEO position shows on the screen.
6) Turn off the ignition and turn it back on 10 seconds later as instructed; or press Cancel button to return to Mode Menu, if you decide not to erase the codes.
7) Use UP/DOWN button to view additional troubleshooting tips, and press Back button to return.
8) Press any key to return to Mode Menu.

III. Readiness Test
The Readiness Test function is available for engine system of VW/AUDI vehicles ONLY.
1) Use UP/DOWN button to select Readiness Test from Mode Menu and press OK button.
2) Wait a few seconds while the scan tool is communicating with vehicle control module.
3) View readiness status on the screen.
4) To record the data, press Save button.

All about GM TECH 2 Initial Hardware Installation

Authentic GM software puts you in the driver’s seat to fix GM vehicles right the 1st time.

 

GM Tech 2 is loaded with features:

  • The large, easy-to-read, back-lit screen is the first feature you’ll notice.
  • Graphic screen displays both test and graphics, and is capable of showing nine sensors at once.
  •  Snapshot graphing shows you any failures or glitches at a glance.
  • The Tech 2 scanner is reprogrammable to keep pace with vehicle and tool evolution.
  • RS232 communications port provides the avenue to connect future devices to your Tech 2, such as SPS reprogramming.

The Tech 2 hardware initial installation requires the following seven tasks:

  1. Remove the RS-232 loopback adapter (P/N 3000112) from the storage case (P/N 3000116). Plug it into the RS-232 port.
  2. Attach the Tech 2 DLC cable (P/N 3000095) to the VCI connector.
  3.  Locate the DLC loopback adapter (P/N 3000109) in the storage case. Attach it to the DLC cable
  4.  Locate the NAO (P/N 3000113) or Universal (P/N 3000115) power supply and appropriate power cord in the storage case. Insert the power jack into the Tech 2 DLC cable (Figure III-5) or into the bottom of the Tech 2 next to DLC cable connector.
  5. Turn on power by pressing the PWR button located on the Tech 2 keypad.
  6. Tech 2 hardware will be verified automatically by the POST test. (For information on this program, refer to Section VI – Troubleshooting.)
  7.  Disconnect the RS-232 loopback adapter, the power supply, and the DLC loopback adapter and returnto the Tech 2 storage case.

EEPROM & MCU APPLICATIONS For Zed Bull Key Programmer

The Zed Bull Key Programmer Eeprom & Mcu application list is as below. As long as new solutions are obtained number of the aaplications will be increased soon, new applications will be added to software with new updates. Eeprom & Mcu applications have token system, for each application 1 token is needed.

Important Notes:
-User must use external IC programmer to read the Eeproms and Mcus.
-The pictures of the IC programmer in Zed-Bull Pc software is for brand Omega-Mtrk IC Programmer.
-Omega-Mtrk IC Programmer covers all the applications in the list and we suggest this programmer.But user is free to use any of the IC programmers in the market.
-According to the features of IC Programmer, all the Eeproms and Mcus might need to be desoldered from immo board. For most of the IC programmers in the market Eeproms and Mcus must be desoldered from immo board.
-While desoldering the Eeproms and Mcus, user must be very carefull, since the pins of the Eeproms and Mcus are thin, they might be broken if not disoldered slowly and properly.
-When an Eeprom or Mcu is read with IC Programmer, we strongly recommend user to save a copy of the original Eeprom or Mcu data file. When a problem occurs while using the file , copy of the original file will be still holding the needed datas and might be used for recovery.
-The Eeprom or Mcu must be soldered back in the same direction when it is desoldered.
-While soldering back the Eeprom or Mcu, user must be carefull against unwanted short circuits between pins.
-While reading motorola Mcus, removing the security of the Mcu is suggested. If the Mcu is read without removing the security, all the informations might be deleted for some Mcu types. So user must be carefull about this detail while reading Mcus.
-Some non-original IC programmers in the market might delete Eeprom and Mcu datas while reading. Using original IC programmers is suggested.
-While desoldering the Eeprom or Mcu, user must be careful about not desoldering the neighbour components on the immo board accidentaly.
-For BMW applications, user must be careful about the key number. When customer wants spare key, the original customer key should be read and the key number should be noted. In the PC software window proper key number should be selected.

To make key which directly starts the car for the modules 11,12, and 18 few additional steps required. The prosedure is as below:
1. Desolder the Eeprom or Mcu from immo board.
2. Read Eeprom or Mcu with external IC Programmer.
3. Save the read file with “.bin” extension with any name and to any location as you wish.
4. Open the file that you saved, using the Zed-Bull Pc Software, insert the suitable transponder to the antenna and click the “programme transponder” button on Zed-BULL Pc Software, precoded transponder is prepared.
5. Do not remove the transponder from antenna, press “Create Image File” button on Extended Function Menu. Save the file with different name such as“…..image.bin” in order not to overwrite on to the previous file.
6. Using the IC programmer write the file that you saved to the eeprom or Mcu of the immo board. The process is completed. The tranponder will start the car directly.

All about GM TECH 2 maintenance

Sometimes whether GM TECH 2 can be used in long-term depends on the tool maintenance. After using the Tech 2, a few simple steps will insure that you get the most life out of this diagnostic tool.

Before all thing start, you should remember do not spray or pour cleaner anywhere on the Tech 2. If the Tech 2 should become dirty, clean it with a mild detergent or hand soap. Avoid using harsh solvents such as petroleum-based cleaning agents: acetone, benzene, trichlorethylene, etc. Harsh solvents can etch Tech 2 plastic surfaces.

Although the Tech 2 is water resistant it is not waterproof, so be sure to thoroughly dry off the Tech 2
prior to usage and/or storage.

Maintenance of the Tech 2 requires periodic inspection and cleaning of:

• The display window

• The keypad

• The cable assemblies and connectors

Make sure the Tech 2 is not connected to a vehicle or other power source and follow the cleaning
procedures detailed below.

  • Cleaning the Display

The display collects dust and grime during normal use. Occasionally wipe the screen with a clean, soft,
static-free cloth. Remove stubborn stains by applying a non-abrasive glass cleaner to a soft cloth and wipe
cloth across display area.

  • Cleaning the Keypad

Clean the keypad with a non-abrasive cleaner. Apply a small amount of cleaner on a soft cloth and wipe
cloth across keypad area.

  • Maintaining the Cable Assemblies and Connectors

Inspect cable assemblies during connection and disconnection to components. Watch for any cuts or
abrasions along the cables. Check the connectors and connector pins for grease, dirt and corrosion. If
contaminants are present, remove them with a mild soap solution.

About Storing the Tech 2, you should remember that  Store the Tech 2 away from solvents and other liquids. It is NOT moisture proof;Store the Tech 2 away from direct sunlight. Ultraviolet and infrared light will darken the display;Store the Tech 2 in its plastic case. Otherwise, the high-impact plastic cover could become scratched.
